The history of the alocasia azlanii is an epiphytic orchid native to the islands of Madagascar. The species was described by Joseph Dalton Hooker in 1852, based on plant material collected by the French botanist Pierre Edmond Boissier
This plant grows between 30 and 90cm tall. The plant grows into a mound shape with deep green, glossy leaves. The leaves are shaped like a fan and have a leathery texture.
